I’m not going to hound anyone for editing the same records, or anything.If a player finishes Kent’s Silver Shroud quest when they are already past level 45, he will say he can upgrade the shroud’s armor, but he will not do it. And if they do, well, again, all you have to do is load this mod after them. It should be perfectly compatible with mods that just retexture the outfit, or give it to NPCs (like the mod that gives it to the mysterious stranger), as long as they don’t alter the stats of the outfit itself. It will ONLY overwrite the Silver Shroud outfit and hat, and everything else will work like in whatever other mod you use to change the clothes. ![]() So basically it can coexist peacefully with any of those mods, but it needs to be after them in the load order to actually have my changes. It just means the last loaded mod “wins.” However, this doesn’t corrupt your game or anything. It WILL conflict with any other mod that adds linings or weaves to the Silver Shroud clothes, which means more than one at this point. Same way as you always got the Silver Shroud outfit. The only workaround that comes to mind is to remove them before you go see him about it. As such, any linings or weaves you added will be lost every time he does an upgrade. He takes your old one and gives you a new one. Kent doesn’t actually upgrade the existing suit. ![]() Made with FO4Edit, if you care about that kinda thing. The hat now also CAN have a legendary effect, but doesn’t actually come with one, so that only helps if you have a mod that allows you to add that. You have the power there, and with great power comes great responsibility… to abuse it □ Or you can stick to the Institute Killer weave, which personally I find suits my avenging vigilante persona just fine. So if you don’t like it just don’t do it. It won’t spawn a railroad lining on its own, and Kent won’t add one. The railroad ballistic weave might be a bit unbalancing, but you need to actively go to a workbench and upgrade that. Pretty much just because I can’t see any reason why you couldn’t sew a weave into this one. It also adds the ability to add vault suit and chest linings, as well as railroad weaves to both. So I don’t consider it particularly unbalanced. And you still get only 2 legendary effects instead of potentially 6, and a maximum of 2 linings instead of potentially 6. And on the whole, you need to do a whole quest arc and get to level 45 to be a stealthy as using a full set of shadowed, which you could get much earlier in the game and with much less fuss. So basically it’s more like keeping the hero persona consistent with the game’s theme, where black stuff is good for sneaking, than anything unbalanced. So again, you’re limited to much less of that than if you were using leather drops. The hat is always equivalent to 1 shadowed piece of headwear, since you’re not getting that upgraded.īoth the hat and the shroud are equivalent to 1 piece of muffled gear each. After the final upgrade, it’s equivalent to wearing the 5 pieces of shadowed armour that it prevents you from wearing. The effect starts weak, equivalent to only 1 shadowed piece when you find it, and increases by 1 each time you get it upgraded by Kent at levels 15, 25, 35 and 45. Which would indicate some decent stealth abilities. ![]() Plus, in the in-game radio transmission, the two raiders can’t find the Silver Shroud even when he speaks, until he reveals himself. Seeing the paralles with the veteran male character who fought against China, yet? The reason being that the vigilante seems to be at least partially based on The Shadow, who was constantly hiding and even had learned “the mysterious power to cloud men’s minds, so they could not see him” in the East. It doesn’t change its appearance, it just adds the hidden enchant effects. As in, it will actually help you sneak in dark places. It adds a shadowed and muffled effect to the Silver Shroud costume and hat. ![]()
